Halburn Plagiarizes Carmichael Response

Fat bag of dicks literally steals from the Gazette. Again.

Once again, Mark Vance Halburn has blatantly plagiarized another newspaper article from the Charleston Gazette-Mail.
This time it is a response from Senate President Mitch Carmichael to an AFL-CIO authored op-ed that ran in the paper on  March 21st.

And in plagiarizing it from the Gazette, Halburn eliminated the context in the first paragraph because he had to conceal what Carmichael was writing in response to. He removed the hyperlink as well as the title of that story.

It’s not like it was a general letter to the editor that Halburn could steal and then pass off that it was sent to his blog. It was a direct response to an op-ed that ran only in the Gazette.

There is no way in the world that the President of the West Virginia Senate would  send that article to him as a letter to the editor responding to an op-ed in the Gazette. What would be the point of that?

Halburn is a guy who has never missed an opportunity to bully, threaten, harass, and jam a camera in the face of Carmichael,  who has the misfortune of representing the district where Halburn’s fake blog is based. When it comes time to clear the air, that’s certainly not going to be the first place Carmichael runs to get the message out.

Halburn ends the stolen article with a “Publisher’s note” which reads in part, “The columnist’s expressed opinions and information provided are his own…”
They weren’t provided, you dipshit. You stole them.

Halburn continues to demonstrate his lack of ethics and integrity by plagiarizing text and publishing it, and by lying to his “readers” by acting like it was sent to him as a letter.

A practice like this is business at its absolute worst, practiced by an immoral charlatan masquerading as a journalist. Halburn will stoop to the lowest, most vulgar, vile, and disgusting ploys to deceive the honest, hard-working citizen. He is the lowest form of scum on the face of the earth.

Serial Plagiarist Back On The Loose

Halburn Plagiarizes Sunday Gazette Article

thief
Once again PutnamLIES.com has uncovered another blatant theft of material by Mark Vance Halburn. This time it comes from the Sunday Gazette-Mail
Halburn’s M.O. is to take text from an opinion article or news story and claim it’s a letter sent by a reader.

In another demonstration of his desperation, he has resorted to his old practice of journalism: plagiarism and theft of intellectual property.

He has lifted word for word an article that ran on the Sunday Gazette-Mail’s opinion page.

Halburn continues to demonstrate his lack of ethics and integrity by plagiarizing text and publishing it, and by lying to his “readers” by acting like it was sent to him as a letter. And then he tops it off with a little Facebook stalking, by swiping one of her profile pictures.

Strange that the article doesn’t appear in any other media outlet anywhere.
There is no way in the world that a WVU student from Summersville would even know his third rate, fake news hate blog even existed, much less send that article to him as a letter to the editor.

It takes a thief.
Same old Halburn.
Fucking scumbag.

WHICH AREA RESTAURANTS GET PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT?

Halburn continues to run a feature on his fake news blog that he calls “In The Kitchen,” where he regurgitates restaurant inspection reports that he has harassed the Putnam County Health Department into sending him.

What’s so unusual about that, you might say?

What’s unusual is that in all the years he’s been running these reports he has only posted ONE inspection report from any of his long-term “advertisers.” That was in 2015 from the Nitro Tudor’s.

He has NEVER printed the results of a Health Department inspection for any Gino’s or Barnyard BBQ restaurant. All three “advertise” on his blog.
Gino’s has 4 Putnam County locations, Tudor’s has 5. Barnyard has 1.
So it can’t be that they’re not being inspected.

Is he not reporting negative results for certain restaurants because they run ads on his blog? Or in exchange for free food?
Does he single out other restaurants for punishment or payback because they refuse to have anything to do with his hate filled agenda?
Halburn has a deal with Barnyard BBQ where he gets a free meal once a month in exchange for advertisements and favorable stories. That allows him to brag to all his Facebook toadies that he takes his son there for “our monthly prime rib dinner.”
Just another example of his continuing conniving, corrupt, unethical, journalistic behavior.

Business Owner Rebuffs Halburn Shakedown

Mark Halburn continues to demonstrate his lack of journalistic ethics.

Now he’s upset because a local business owner refused his offer for her to pay him $25.00 to write an “article” about her business on his blog.
His reasoning? She charges, so she should pay him for a story. In his words, “No pay, no article.”
Amazing that he now publicly admits that he’s a shakedown artist.

His post of almost a month ago has really gotten under the Halburn’s thin skin
Why did he wait so long to whine?
Obviously something happened to trigger it. Whenever he makes a post separately to draw attention to something posted by PutnamLIES.com, it’s almost always because someone’s said something to him.
Now he’s begging, “PLEASE contact me if you’re a new business that I haven’t shaken down before and I’ll run a free article (and then shake you down to run an ad.).”
We stand by the opinion that he’s a shakedown artist.

Grifter Shops With A Cop

Unethical Publisher Steals Gifts From Poor Kids

Winfield PD sponsors a Shop With A Cop program for needy kids. They take the kids to Walmart and let them shop for Christmas gifts for their family. Which is great.

What’s not so great is that Halburn took his kid with him Saturday when he went there to write a story about it and then scammed them into including the boy in the gift buying, thereby knocking a truly needy boy or girl out of the fun.

And, the 400 lb blogger who constantly wants to lecture everyone about ethics, showed his lack of same by failing to report that his son was the beneficiary of Winfield PD’s largesse.
Daddy gets MORE free stuff to make himself look good and gets junior used to the idea of getting something for nothing.

Harbor Fraud

Halburn has a new minimum wage menial job as a stockboy at Harbor Freight Tools in Cross Lanes. I guess the insurance sales job didn’t work out. Stop by and pick up a magnifying device or one of those those handy pick up devices and give him some shit. Demand to be serviced.
How ironic is it that someone who complained about Walmart selling cheap Chinese shoes is now selling cheap Chinese tools?
This is going to look real good on his voluminous resume.

Strangely enough, he made no mention of his past when applying there. Said his name was Vance.
He works 3 days a week and gets no health coverage. Reports are that everyone hates him at work because he acts like the asshole that he is.

This was the same Harbor Freight store he defrauded in 2012 when he first moved into his shitty rodent infested garage apartment in Dunbar.

“How I shop: I need a toolbox and reversible screwdriver set. While moving in I found a crate of “stuff” under the kitchen sink. One item was a “welder’s apron” in a sealed package from Harbor Freight tools. I “think” we can rule out me taking a welding class, so I take it tonight and exchange it for a new toolbox and reversible screwdriver set. The manager handles the exchange, I reach for my wallet to pay the difference, she laughs and hands me the difference: One penny. You read it right: I get a new toolbox, a screwdriver set-and a penny!”

Mr. ethical, honest Christian.

Let’s see how long this job lasts.

Halburn Outs Undercover Officer

Flabby Blabbermouth Publishes Name, Picture

Recently Halburn wrote a story on his attack blog about a Putnam County Deputy who was returning to the drug unit.

That story included the name and several photographs of the officer.

This is even after him bragging right here on PutnamLIES.com
on November 7, 2009,

“We don’t report security plans-at the request of law enforcement. It’s called not revealing the playbook to the bad guys. It’s called responsible journalism…. We also don’t report the names of undercover police or how many cops work certain shifts. And when some knucklehead sent me photos of the homes of Hurricane PD officers, we didn’t publish them either.”

If a guy is going back into an undercover drug unit, doesn’t a news story kind of defeat the purpose?
Halburn might as well write, “Hey, dope dealers, here’s a photo and story about this guy who’s a cop.”

Undercover officers don’t want their picture in newspapers or online, even if they’re not ID’d.
But no, here’s this big feature story with a photo about this cop who’s going to be sending guys from Detroit to jail. Good luck.

Way to endanger a police officer’s life, Halburn.

This is just more of the irresponsible, unethical conduct that we have come to expect from PutnumLive.com and Mark Halburn.

PutnamLIES.com does not publish the names or photos of law enforcement officers that are working undercover in order to not jeopardize their lives.

We do practice responsible journalism.

The Facts Don’t Lie

But Mark Halburn Does –
Election Chicanery Exposed

Last month Halburn got busted once again. This time for running campaign ads without the candidates’ permission.

He illegally ran unpaid ads for both Natalie Tennant and Betty Ireland’s campaigns for the gubernatorial nomination.

PutnamLIES.com said that the truth would come out when the first primary campaign financial reports were released.
And it has.
The truth is that Halburn lied.
Again.
Neither Ireland nor Tennant‘s reports lists PutnumLive as an expenditure or an in-kind contribution.

The Tennant ad even had the “Paid For by the Elect Natalie Tennant Committee” disclaimer. Which, if it was not a paid ad, is a violation of election law.

Campaign reports must contain all expenses.
An advertiser cannot donate ads to a candidate unless a value is declared and the donation is accepted by the candidate.PutnamLIES.com’s prediction came true when Halburn claimed that unnamed supporters of the candidates only paid for the ads through February 28th. He says he doesn’t run free advertisements.
Another lie which PutnamLIES.com has disproved.
Even Halburn admitted that he runs free ads. He just can’t remember all the lies he’s told.

Funny though, when the Secretary of State’s Election Fraud Division got involved, the ads disappeared.
Halburn’s explanation doesn’t hold water. No politician buys an ad for one month, 3 months before an election. Especially to reach Halburn’s 29 readers.

Next, he claimed ads were paid for by candidate supporters who plan to run them again when they get funds. He says no one ordered them removed.

Neither of these campaigns are hurting for money. The fact is, neither campaign sees the need for blog advertising.

He claims that political ads run $300 a month. Which is another lie.
Expenditure reports show that they cost anywhere between 25-200 dollars a month, when he decides to charge for them at all.
Some candidates pay nothing. Reports show that Brady Paxton for example, paid zero despite his ad running there for at least a month.
A Dale Martin ad that appeared before the general election in November apparently ran for free as well. It does not appear in any of his expenditures.
Both ads contained the “paid for” disclaimer.

Here are the numbers for the 2010 election cycle:

Brady Paxton
No expenditures since 11/5/08

Dale Martin
5/24/10 – ad – $100

Cathy Larck
4/25/10 – monthly ad – $125
5/11/10 – monthly ad – $125
11/14/10 – monthly ad – $175

Justin Black
5/7/10 – Advertisement – $100

Marge Carpenter
3/31/2010 – Advertising – $200
4/25/10 – Advertising – $25
5/3/10 – Advertising – $200

Debra Girimont
6/13/09 – ad test – $150

Additionally, in the 2008 Supreme Court race, Halburn ran an ad for now Justice Menis Ketchum that didn’t appear on Ketchum’s expenditures. Again containing the “paid for” disclaimer.

The candidates for county offices, Debbie Phillips, W.D. Arthur, William Legg & Kathie Crouse, are not required to file reports , so we can’t tell if any of those candidates actually paid for their ads.

So, the bottom line here is that Halburn ran the Ireland and Tennant ads completely unsanctioned, without any permission or compensation from the campaigns.

Illegal?
Probably.
Unethical?
Certainly.
Neither is new for Mark Hallburn.

The sad thing about this whole episode is that both candidates knew these ads were running there but took no steps to have them removed. If neither of these two women weren’t willing to stand up to a bully like Halburn, how are they going to stand up for the people of West Virginia on the really tough issues that face our state?

ANY politician that advertises with PutnumLive.com is not fit to hold office.
